In the past,
CCTV was able stream you meetings
and shows through a free service
called Google Video.
Google did not charge us to
host the videos and there was no
time limit on how long they could
be.
Google then bought You
Tube.
In the transition, Google
Video has turned to focusing more
on indexing the videos on You Tube
than streaming videos themselves.
We can no longer upload
videos to Google Video.
You Tube has a 10-minute
maximum length limit for their
videos and we cannot use them.
We have researched other
“Free” streaming solutions to
get us back online.
All of them that we have
found will insert some type of
advertising into the videos.
We would have no control
over the content.
We would have no control
over the content and there for
cannot trust the ad content would
be in good standards.
We currently
have a bid proposal to replace the
current production equipment at
Chaska City Hall.
In this proposal we have
included purchasing our own
streaming server.
But with the economic
times, we are on a hold for all
new purchases.
We are
continually looking for free
streaming solutions so we can get
CCTV back online as soon as
possible.
Thank you for your patience.
