Lead Ice Assistant 

Short Description:

The Lead Ice Assistant will assist and fulfill duties for the Head Ice Maker in his or her absence. The Lead Ice Assistant will be responsible for working with the Head Ice Maker and Assistant Ice Makers to ensure our facility stays recognized for providing world-class ice. This position will be accountable for assistance for multiple events held at the Curling Center. The Lead Ice Assistant will also need to be in attendance during the flooding, installation and removal of the ice. Monitoring of conditions and general maintenance and cleanliness of the arena will also be required. This position serves as the lead staff in the building in the absence of full-time staff.

Responsibilities Include:

1. Pick up and removal of snow
2. Provides daily maintenance of ice including pebbling, scraping as directed, cleaning bumpers, and vacuuming.
3. Assists with custodial and maintenance needs inside and outside of building.
4. Communicate with the public and provides exceptional customer service.
5. Ensures equipment is stored, cleaned, and functioning properly.
6. Monitors ice temperatures via computer system and makes changes as needed.
7. Plans and assists in preparing ice for play, flooding and installation of ice.
8. Partners with Head Ice Maker in maintaining ice resurfacing equipment.
9. Log shave patterns and readings of ice monitoring system into Xcel spreadsheet.
10. Partners with Head Ice maker to train new Assistant Ice Makers.
11. Serve as a member of the emergency response team. Responsible for understanding and knowing the emergency action plan (EAP) for all areas of the facility.
12. Other duties as assigned

Curling Center Office Support

The office support personnel will serve as the point of contact for guests of the building and customers using our facilities. This position will help provide customer service at the window, over the phone, and through email. The office staff will help monitor activity in the curling arena, the Event Center, and building and assist with general cleaning and custodial needs.

• Provide customer service to guests

  •  • Ensure that those using our facility are properly checked in and have signed any necessary documents, including but not limited to waivers, rental agreements, etc.

  •  • Working in ActiveNet software to help assist with daily business. This could include selling memberships, enrolling in classes, modifying permits, entering league scores, and taking payments.

  •  • Ensure that curling screens are updated and functioning properly

  • •  Ensuring that all reports - incident, accident, etc are filled out and turned in

  • •  Selling merchandise and products through our point of sale system

  • •  General building maintenance/custodial attention. This includes ensuring bathrooms are clean and supplied, floors are vacuumed, garbage cans are monitored, and glass near office is clean. Areas include Welcome Hall, locker rooms, and Player’s Lounge.

  • •  Conducting a financial closeout at day’s end and securing cash

  •  • Follow opening and closing procedures for unlocking and securing the building

  •  • Assist with ice pebbling as needed

Evening/Night Custodian 

The Evening or Night Custodian is responsible for general custodial and light maintenance duties during a scheduled shift. 

• Performs interior and exterior general custodial duties in assigned areas, including sanitization of locker rooms.
• Completes floor and surface maintenance, waste removal, light maintenance (e.g. stock supplies) and preventative maintenance (e.g. snow and ice removal from entryways.)
• Assists with completing room set-ups and tear downs, and with general maintenance and resurfacing in ice arenas as assigned. 
• Assists with ad-hoc maintenance as needed and reports any needed maintenance, repairs or safety concerns to person in charge.

Chaska Community Center SilverSneakers® Instructor  

Lead SilverSneakers® group fitness classes at the CCC-specifically looking for SS Cardiofit and SS Splash instructors. Instructors are responsible for leading group fitness classes to patrons 55 years of age or older. Skills include counting, cueing, organizing choreography, and patron relations. Job responsibilites as follows. 
• Provide a safe and fun environment for participants.
• Promote knowledge of proper group fitness components, i.e.: warm up, aerobic exercise, flexibility, cool down, etc. 
• Knowledgeable in techniques and dynamics of Group Fitness.
• Acquire and maintain a SilverSneakers® certification and/or Group Exercise Certification. 
• Acquire and maintain CPR/AED Certification.

Lifeguards and Swim Instructors

Lifeguards and Swim Instructors needed at the Chaska Community Center and Clayhole Beach (June - August).  Candidates must be American Red Cross certified in Lifeguarding.  Certification classes available at the CCC. Day, evening and weekend hours available up to 32 hours a week.

Arena Maintenance Workers

Part time Arena Maintenance Workers are responsible for the general daily operation of CCC Arenas.  Operate ice resurfacers, perform general custodial work, provide customer service, operate skate sharpner, assist CCC Maintenance as needed with room set ups and tear downs, Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be age 18 and older.  Wage: Depending on experience.

Indoor & Outdoor Rink Attendants

Indoor Rink Attendants provide excellent customer service to all Community Center patrons and guests. In addition, provides on ice supervision during open skates and/or special events ensuring safety and enjoyment of all patrons on ice and in arena. Assist in Skate Shop with skate rental, daily admissions, & scanning of membership cards. Process all cash/checks received accurately and promptly. Sharpen hockey and figure skates. Participate in keeping all facility areas neat, clean, and safe at all times. Attend all necessary trainings and work meetings. Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Starting Wage: $9.65/hour.

Outdoor Rink Attendants provide customer service and supervision of outdoor ice skating rinks during winter season. Must be able to work shifts between the hours of Monday-Friday 4-9pm, Saturday 10am-9pm, & Sunday 1-9pm.
